Academy Website Creation: A Content Checklist for First-Time Editors Academy Website Creation: A Content Checklist for First-Time Editors

When starting academy website creation, decide how to organize the content before focusing on design. Clarifying what you want to tell which audience makes it easier to identify the pages and materials you need. TalkTalkMySite provides no-code templates, AI chat, and visual editing, so you can get started without coding or design experience. However, choosing the content and checking its accuracy are not tasks you can simply assume will be done automatically.

1. Separate pages by purpose

  • Home page: Briefly introduce the academy, intended students, main courses, and how to ask a question or get in touch.
  • Classes: Organize the intended audience, teaching format, and schedule for each course. Confirm any schedule or conditions that are still undecided before publishing them.
  • About: Prepare the location, opening hours, contact details, and the academy’s educational approach.
  • Contact: State the methods you can actually support, such as in-person, phone, or online inquiries.

Review each item by asking, “Who will read this, and what should they learn or do?” Decide first whether your website is mainly for information or will also support enrollment or payment.

2. Gather materials before building

  • The academy’s name, accurate contact details, address, and opening hours
  • Course descriptions and confirmed schedule and audience information
  • A logo and photos you plan to use, with permission to publish them confirmed
  • The inquiry method and the process the person responsible will use to respond
  • Final copy for publication and a person responsible for edits

If it is difficult to draft everything at once, make a separate draft for each page and mark which facts are confirmed and which are undecided. Avoid wording that could misrepresent actual classes or facilities. Before publishing, check the copy, images, and contact details again.

3. Choose the scope and required settings

Basic is for a website, Standard is for a store, and Premium is for multilingual use. If your main purpose is to explain classes and schedules, first consider the scope you need. If you plan to sell products, consider store features and the scope of store creation. A plan name alone does not complete the preparations needed to operate a site.

Payments, social login, domains, and shipping require setup when needed. In particular, if you sell books or other products online, check payment and shipping steps against how you will actually operate. You do not need to add features that your academy does not need.

4. Check before publishing, then take the next step

  • [ ] Have you checked the wording and page layout on both a phone and a computer?
  • [ ] Are course details, schedules, address, and contact information current and consistent?
  • [ ] Does the inquiry method work, and can the responsible person respond?
  • [ ] Have you completed any required payment, login, domain, or shipping setup?
  • [ ] Is it clear what visitors should do next?

Hypothetical example: Suppose “Hanbit Academy” introduces classes for middle school students and accepts phone inquiries only. Put the target audience and main courses on the home page, confirmed schedules and teaching formats on the classes page, and the verified phone number and opening hours on the contact page. If the academy does not sell products online, it can leave store, payment, and shipping features out of its initial scope.

You remain responsible for reviewing and updating the content after publication. No-code tools do not guarantee error-free results, search rankings, or sales, and unlimited free use should not be assumed. As a next step, create a page list and materials checklist, confirm undecided details, and draft one page at a time.
