Consulting Website Creation: Check Image Rights First
Before building a site to present consulting services, check image permissions and write useful alt text. Compare a labelled hypothetical before-and-after example and use the checklist before publishing.
Consulting Website Creation: Check Image Rights First Consulting Website Creation: Check Image Rights First
In consulting website creation, photos are more than decoration. They can help visitors understand a service and its professional focus, but an image with unclear provenance or usage terms can create problems. Check permission and alt text before choosing images and polishing the copy.
Gather the materials first
Separate photos you took yourself from those supplied by someone else. For each image, keep the original file, the photographer or provider’s details, the scope of permission, and any related records together. If permission cannot be confirmed, do not publish the image. Consider finding an image you are allowed to use, or creating the page with text and shapes instead. Adding a credit after downloading someone else’s photo does not, by itself, grant permission to use it.
Write alt text for each image as well. It is a short description that communicates an image’s essential information to visitors who cannot see it. If a photo conveys useful content, say briefly what it shows and avoid repeating nearby copy. For a decorative image, avoid putting information in the alt text that is already provided in the surrounding content.
Hypothetical example: before and after
In this hypothetical example, “Ongyeol Business Consulting” placed a meeting photo on its homepage. Before revision, the company had taken the photo from the internet and relied on a credit line as its only permission check. Its alt text was “Consulting image.” The right to use the photo had not been confirmed, and the alt text did not explain the scene or its relevance to the business.
After revision, the company replaced it with a photo it had taken itself and could document permission to use. It recorded the photographer and the scope of permission. The alt text became “A consultant reviewing a business plan with a client.” This is a hypothetical editing example, not a legal determination or a promise of results. Check the terms for each actual image before using it.
Build and review before publishing
TalkTalkMySite is a no-code tool with templates, AI chat, and visual editing. You can get started without coding or design experience, but you remain responsible for checking image rights, copy, layout, and business details. Basic is for a website, Standard for a store, and Premium for a multilingual setup. If your main aim is to explain consulting services and invite enquiries, decide which pages you need first. Consider the store option when you need to sell products; not every consulting site needs ecommerce.
- Have you checked each photo’s source and permitted uses?
- Does its alt text accurately convey the image’s key information?
- Are the service description, contact method, and business details correct?
- Are images and text easy to read on a mobile screen?
Next step and practical limitations
Payments, social login, domains, and shipping require setup when needed. Search rankings, sales, unlimited free use, and error-free results are not guaranteed. Start by checking the permission and alt text for one image you plan to publish. Build the essential pages, then review the content and settings on the actual site. If an image’s usage rights are uncertain, hold it back until you can confirm them.
