Mobile Menus and Pages for a Flower and Plant Site: First Edits

For a new flower or plant site, simplify the mobile menu around visitors’ goals, build the matching pages, then test the real ordering and inquiry paths on a phone.

A flower and plant site may offer many kinds of products, but its mobile menu does not need to be complicated. Someone ordering a bouquet, someone looking for plant-care advice, and someone contacting the shop should each be able to find a clear next step. Start by organizing the menu and pages around those needs. The sequence below also works when using TalkTalkMySite’s visual editing tools.

1. Write down visitors’ goals before editing the menu

Before opening the editor, list around three reasons people might visit. For example: order a bouquet, browse indoor plants, or find delivery and care information. A menu is a guide to those goals, not an inventory of every piece of content you have.

  • Choose one primary action, such as ordering a bouquet.
  • Separate frequently needed information from supporting information, such as plant care and delivery details.
  • Combine overlapping menu items, even if you also want to feature products or seasonal promotions.

Hypothetical example: You could start with four items: “Bouquets,” “Plants,” “Care & Delivery,” and “Visit Us.” This is only an example; tailor the actual menu to your products and business.

2. Plan page destinations alongside menu labels

For each menu item, decide which page it opens and write down in one sentence what question that page answers. A “Bouquets” page might explain the available options and how to order. A “Plants” page might help visitors browse plant categories and choose a product. “Care & Delivery” could provide basic care guidance and delivery information. If visiting the shop is not a primary goal, you do not have to place “Visit Us” at the top of the menu.

  • Assign a destination page to every menu item.
  • Give each page one main purpose.
  • Do not feature a page in the menu before its content is ready.
  • Keep labels short and specific. Avoid vague labels such as “More” when they do not tell visitors what to expect.

3. Edit the content before linking the menu

In the visual editor, create the pages and add their titles and essential content first. A bouquet page might explain how to choose and what information is needed to order. A plant page might introduce product categories and care guidance. A delivery page can describe the applicable delivery terms and how to check them. Make sure any specific terms match how the business actually operates.

Then connect each menu item to its page and arrange the order. TalkTalkMySite supports AI chat editing and visual editing. You can use AI to draft or refine copy, but check page links, product details, and business terms yourself. AI results are not guaranteed to be accurate or error-free. To supplement your content, you can search licensed stock images and videos. Where visitors need to see the products actually for sale, also check that the featured product photos accurately represent them.

4. Test menus and pages on a phone

Do not finish based only on the editor’s preview. Before publishing, use a mobile screen as a visitor would: open and close the menu, tap every item, and check that each opens the intended page. Confirm that the page title and essential information appear naturally near the top. Also check that long labels are not cut off and similar items are not easy to confuse on a small screen.

  • Can a visitor find a path to order or inquire from the first screen?
  • Do the Bouquet, Plants, and Care & Delivery pages match their menu labels?
  • Are product descriptions and delivery information easy to read on mobile?
  • Can visitors comfortably tap menu items and buttons on a narrow screen?

Hypothetical example: If tapping “Delivery” leads only to plant-care advice, either add the missing delivery information or rename the menu item “Plant Care” so that its label matches the page.

5. Check feature scope and limitations before publishing

Basic SEO covers site-wide settings. Standard offers per-page SEO and store features, while Premium offers multilingual stores. Check which features are included in your plan before editing. SEO settings and a well-organized menu do not guarantee search rankings, visitor numbers, or sales. HEAD meta tags work on published sites, while custom scripts run only on connected customer domains. Do not assume these features apply in other circumstances when adding menu or page functionality.

After publishing, tap through the main menu again on a phone and check that pages with updated content display correctly. A useful next action is simple: write down three visitor goals and the pages that serve them, then build your first menu from that list alone. You can add unready content or extra menu items later, once they are useful.
