Brand Fonts for Architecture and Interiors: A Readability Check for First-Time Editors

Choosing a typeface by brand mood alone can make text hard to read on small screens. Follow a practical sequence from selecting font candidates to testing real copy and checking the mobile layout.

On an architecture or interior design site, typography affects both the impression of a space and how easily visitors can find information. Even a carefully composed look can obscure project names, floor areas, or consultation details if they become cramped on a small screen. For a first edit, it is safer to test typefaces with real copy at different screen sizes than to settle on a font before checking the page.

The examples below are hypothetical and are included only to explain the process. They do not describe a real brand’s results or prescribe a universal design standard.

1. List where fonts will appear and prepare sample copy

Before styling every sentence on the site, separate headings, body text, buttons, and captions. Gather one sample for each role so you can compare typefaces under consistent conditions.

  • Hero heading: “We redesign the flow of home.”
  • Project description: “32-pyeong apartment renovation in Seongsu-dong”
  • Body text: two or three sentences about the project scope, materials, and design process
  • Button: “Request a consultation”
  • Image caption: the project name and location, or a brief note about the photograph

For a hypothetical site where “32 pyeong” and “renovation” appear repeatedly, check whether numbers and Korean text look natural alongside one another. Prepare common heading, body, and button copy before writing a new version of each for every page.

2. Evaluate brand character and readability separately

When reviewing font candidates, do not ask only, “Does this look premium?” Check how each one reads in both a short heading and a longer explanation. A thin-stroked or highly distinctive face may work well at a large size but become indistinct in small body text or captions.

  • Choose three brand qualities, such as calm, precise, and warm.
  • Compare the same font candidates in both headings and body text.
  • Test real copy containing numbers, brackets, and a variety of Korean characters.
  • If decoration draws attention before the message does, compare another candidate.

TalkTalkMySite provides six OFL Korean fonts with live previews. Switch between available candidates and compare them with your own copy. Do not assume that every font suits every brand. If your preferred typeface is not among the available choices, select the most readable option within the current set or first confirm what font options can be applied.

3. Apply the font to headings, body text, and buttons on a real page

Once you have selected a candidate, apply it to one representative page first. Try it on headings, body copy, buttons, and captions, then adjust text size and line spacing. Rather than enlarging small text indiscriminately, first check whether the important information is easy to distinguish.

  • Check that project names and descriptions do not compete as if they were both headings.
  • See whether body text wraps at natural points.
  • Make sure button copy is not cut off and the button’s purpose is clear.
  • For text over an image, check readability over both light and dark areas of the photograph.

In a hypothetical example, a distinctive typeface might be used for a heading while a more comfortable setting is used for a long project description. This is an illustration, not a recommendation that a particular font pairing is always right. Check in the editing interface whether a setting applies site-wide or only to a specific element, and avoid changing many settings at once.

4. Test small screens and longer copy

Checking only on desktop can hide issues such as a heading breaking into too many lines on mobile or a button becoming too narrow. Before publishing, review a representative project page and the consultation information in preview, including cases where the copy is longer than usual.

  • Put the longest project name in a heading and inspect its line breaks.
  • Check area labels containing numbers and units, for example “32 pyeong” and “105㎡.”
  • Make sure body text does not densely fill the whole screen.
  • Confirm that each button leads to the intended information or inquiry flow.
  • Compare whether the same essential copy is readable on desktop and mobile.

A font alone cannot solve every readability problem. If sentences are too long, text and background are difficult to distinguish, or a screen contains too much information, revise the wording and layout as well. This guide does not promise a separate color-contrast standard or a guaranteed result.

5. Save, then check the published page

Finally, save and inspect the published page. Compare it with the editor preview and verify that the chosen typeface appears in the intended places for headings, body text, and buttons. Meta tag and custom script settings are separate from brand-font editing, so do not change them unnecessarily while adjusting typography.

  • After checking one representative page, apply the same rules to other pages.
  • If a page has an intentional font exception, note where it appears and why.
  • When adding new copy, identify whether it should use the heading, body, or button style.
  • If a section is hard to read, review the copy length and layout as well as the font.

For your next step, prepare the heading, description, and button copy for one representative project and enter them in the preview. Confirm that all three are readable on both desktop and mobile before extending the same style to the rest of the site.
