Editing a Beauty Brand Footer: A Practical Order for Easy-to-Find Information

A hands-on guide for first-time site operators: organize shipping, returns, and product information in a useful order, then check every footer link and label on mobile before publishing.

A footer is the information area repeated at the bottom of a site’s pages. Customers often look there for shipping details, returns, ingredients, or a way to contact the brand while considering a product or after placing an order. For a beauty brand, the priority is not to collect as many links as possible. It is to label and arrange the information customers actually need before and after purchase.

1. Write down customer questions before adding links

Before opening the footer editor, list the questions customers need answered. For beauty products, separate information that directly affects choosing or using an item, such as directions and precautions, key product or ingredient information, shipping, and returns. Do not add links to guidance the business does not provide or pages that have not yet been written.

  • Review customer inquiries and product details to identify recurring questions.
  • For each question, check whether an existing page answers it.
  • If there is no suitable page, write and review it before adding a footer link.

**Hypothetical example:** Suppose a fictional skincare brand, “Ongyeol,” often receives questions about delivery timing, exchanges, and how to use its products. Its footer could include clearly labeled links such as “Shipping information,” “Exchanges and returns,” and “How to use.” This is an editing example, not a claim about a real brand or its policies.

2. Group items into a small number of clear sections

Once the required links are ready, group them so customers can scan by purpose. For instance, a “Customer support” section could contain contact information and shipping or return guidance, while a “Product information” section could contain ingredient and usage information. Put company information or official channels in a separate section only if those details are current and actually maintained.

  • Avoid vague section names such as “Other”; choose a label that helps customers predict what is inside.
  • Name links by their purpose. “Shipping and returns” is easier to understand than “Policies.”
  • Check that similarly named links do not point to the same page or create unnecessary duplication.

Having more pages does not automatically make information easier to find. Place the most frequently needed items in a prominent group, and avoid listing low-priority information at excessive length.

3. Enter the labels and links in a deliberate order

TalkTalkMySite supports visual editing, which lets you select and edit page elements on screen. Select the footer and enter section headings, link labels, and destination pages in order. You can also ask AI chat for draft wording, but do not publish a suggestion without comparing it against the business’s actual information.

  • Set the section headings first, then arrange each group’s links by purpose.
  • Open each link setting and confirm that it leads to the intended page.
  • Verify that addresses, email details, and operating information are current.
  • Check that policy wording matches the version approved by the responsible person.

**Hypothetical example:** If Ongyeol adds “Full ingredient list” and “How to use” under “Product information,” check that “Full ingredient list” leads to a page with the relevant product information. Do not imply, without verification, that one set of information applies to every product.

4. Check readability and the mobile layout

After adding the links, use the preview to check font size, line breaks, spacing, and section order. Pay particular attention to mobile: headings and links should be visually distinct, and long labels should not be awkwardly cut off or take up an excessive number of lines. Keep labels concise, but do not shorten them so much that their meaning becomes unclear.

  • Read through every section in both desktop and mobile previews.
  • Check that links are not so close together that they are easy to tap by mistake.
  • Make sure the text stands out sufficiently from the footer background.
  • Open the published site and follow the links to confirm their destinations and behavior.

A preview in the editing screen cannot confirm every condition on the published site. After publishing, open the live site and check the footer on several representative pages.

5. Review before publishing and record the change

Before publishing, check page destinations, spelling, contact details, and policy content. When a policy or product detail changes later, update both the footer link and the guidance page it opens. Editing the footer does not guarantee SEO results or improved search visibility.

  • Confirm that there are no missing pages, broken links, or leftover placeholder labels.
  • Check that customers can actually use the contact method provided.
  • On the published site, follow the links again on desktop and mobile.
  • Record the change date and person responsible so the next review is easier.

To get started, write down the three questions customers ask most often and the pages that answer them. Use that list to create footer sections. This gives customers a clearer route to useful information without adding unnecessary links. Editing controls and layouts may vary with site settings, and AI-generated drafts still require factual checking and human review.
