A practical checklist for beginners preparing a children’s website or store. Organize event and product details, images, payments, and shipping, then preview everything before publishing.

Decide what you are updating

For a children’s website, make it easy for caregivers to find the details they need. For an event, verify the date and time, location, eligible age group, and how to register. For a new product, prepare its name, price, options, stock, and shipping information. First decide whether you are publishing a website announcement or adding an item to a store that accepts orders. Keeping visitor information separate from purchase details makes each update easier to check.

Gather your materials before publishing

  • Event name, date and time, location, age group, registration deadline, and contact method
  • Product name, price, color or size options, stock, and shipping terms
  • Photos you are authorized to use, with descriptions where useful
  • Copy and business details checked by the person responsible, such as contact information and opening hours
  • The destination for each button, such as a registration or inquiry route, or a product page

Compare error-prone details, such as dates, prices, and options, against your source material. If you use photos of children, confirm you have permission to publish them. Also check that unnecessary personal information, such as a name tag or location detail, is not visible.

Hypothetical example: a weekend activity and a new kit

Imagine a fictional business called “Sprout Play” promoting a Saturday activity and a new craft kit. The owner prepares the event date, location, age group, and registration deadline in the event announcement. Separately, the kit listing states its price, contents, options, and shipping terms. The event button leads to the inquiry route, while the kit’s purchase button leads to its product page. Test each item separately to catch confusing or broken links.

Creation and update checklist

  • [ ] Choose the purpose: consider Basic for a website focused on news and essential information, Standard for a store that sells products, or Premium when multiple languages are needed.
  • [ ] Check your materials and business details: confirm that event and product information, images, contact details, and any displayed address are current.
  • [ ] In TalkTalkMySite, choose a template and use visual editing to arrange the heading, text, images, and buttons. You can use no-code templates and AI chat; coding or design experience is not required to get started.
  • [ ] Set up any functions you need. Payments, social login, domains, and shipping may require setup, so verify them before going live.
  • [ ] Preview the page on a phone and a computer. Check dates, prices, links, line breaks, and readable text size before publishing.

A template or AI does not automatically verify everything perfectly. Owners still need to review the content, layout, and business details. Search rankings and sales are not guaranteed, and unlimited free use is not promised. After publishing, assign someone to update event end dates, sold-out status, and changed options. As a next step, choose one upcoming event or one new product and gather the materials it needs.

This sets the payment region for new stores. Existing stores keep their original region.
