Before Building a Kids’ Store: Product and Photo Checklist

Organize product details and photos before building a no-code store, and separate the features you need from the settings you must check yourself. A practical preparation guide for first-time creators.

When you are starting a website, it is often easier to begin with what you sell and what customers need to know than with the design. Baby and kids’ products can require details such as size and recommended age, so gathering the information first can help prevent omissions during store creation. No-code tools can help you get started, but they do not take responsibility for verifying your content or settings.

1. Gather product information in one place

Create a document or spreadsheet with these details for each product:

  • Product name, category, availability, and options
  • Price, differences between options, and the information you need to manage stock
  • Details that accurately describe the product, such as color, size, and material
  • Guidance customers need to decide, such as recommended age or intended use
  • Washing and care instructions, included items, and packaging unit

  • The operating rules you will use for shipping and exchanges

Do not add unverified safety claims or benefits. In particular, check age guidance, materials, and warnings for children’s products against your actual product information and operating rules before publishing.

2. Select and name photos by product

Separate main images from detail images, and name files so you can identify both the product and the view at a glance. A consistent pattern such as `RainbowApron_front`, `RainbowApron_worn`, and `RainbowApron_detail` makes uploading and review easier. Check that each color or option matches its photo, and label any image containing multiple products so it is clear what it shows. Set aside products that do not have ready images, and do not publish an unverified image as the main product photo.

3. Check features and operational details before building

TalkTalkMySite offers no-code templates, AI chat, and visual editing, so you can get started without coding or design experience. However, a template does not supply complete business information: owners still need to review the text, layout, and business details. Basic is for a website, Standard is for a store, and Premium is for multilingual use, so first choose the type of site you need. Payments, social login, domains, and shipping each require setup.

4. Pre-publication checklist and next step

  • [ ] Do product names, options, descriptions, and photos match?
  • [ ] Can customers easily find age guidance, size, material, and care instructions?
  • [ ] Are the required payment and shipping settings and business details ready?
  • [ ] Are the text and image layout readable on a phone?
  • [ ] Have you personally checked the real operating flow, including inquiries, cart, and payment?

Hypothetical example: To list a “Rainbow Apron,” prepare photos for each color option alongside the material, size, and washing instructions, and confirm the shipping rules. Then add the product to a Standard store and review the preview and actual settings. No-code can help you start sooner, but it does not guarantee search rankings or sales, unlimited free use, or an error-free result. A realistic next step is to organize your materials, build around a small set of products, and publish only after checking each item yourself.
